Session 12: Curriculum Wrap-Up (May 2024 B Cohort)

Hello @may24b-cohort, I just want to remind you that we’ll be meeting on Tuesday from 1:00-2:30 p.m. Central for our Curriculum Wrap-Up session. Please be prepared to provide updates on your teams and projects. We’ll also do an in-session activity (directions below). There’s no need to do the activity prior to the session.

Final Reflection Activity: Please find a picture that helps you articulate your learning experience in the program. Post the picture here in the Session 12 thread. Instructions:

  1. Visit one of the suggested image repositories:
  1. Find and download a picture that represents your learning experience.
  2. Upload the picture to the Session 12 thread.
  3. Add a title and a brief description that tells us why you chose that image.
  4. Review others’ posts.

The image I selected embodies the idea of working collaboratively, supporting team members, and utilizing each other’s strengths to achieve a shared goal.

Lots of new ideas while also an educational journey.

What we are doing is like putting together a puzzle - patience, dedication, solving problems, etc. At the end, we will admire all of our hard work!

This image depicts all the twists and turns I’ve had to make in learning about OER and my writings in hopes of getting to the beautiful, calming beach (or in this case a book)!

Thanks for a great session today, @may24b-cohort! Today we wrapped up the structured curriculum portion of the TSP. We hope the TSP has helped you gain clarity about what open publishing entails and all the innovative possibilities it holds for your teaching practice. That being said, there’s still more for us to explore and learn during our remaining months as a community of practice. Here are a few key links from today’s session:

This session saw us do a few different things. After our regular team updates, we dedicated some time to revisiting the key takeaways of the TSP curriculum. The remainder of the session focused on creating spaces for reflection. This included a reflection poll with questions about your favorite session, biggest lesson learned, and biggest challenge experience thus far. Then we did a final reflection activity where we asked cohort members to reflect on articulate their learning experience in the program and upload an image that best represents this in the forum. If you were absent, please complete this activity as outlined in my initial post in this thread.

Beginning next month, we will go back to our monthly session cadence for our remaining three TSP sessions. Please note that our next session will happen on Tuesday, March 18. If you have any questions or concerns in the meantime, please don’t hesitate to contact me. See you next month!
