Introduction to Philosophy: Ethics

The second book in the Introduction to Philosophy series has just been published!

Introduction to Philosophy: Ethics, edited by George Matthews, explores historical and contemporary approaches philosophical theories of ethics. Chapters focus on moral relativism, the relationship between ethics and religion, virtue ethics in the Western and Eastern traditions, the question of self-interest and ethics, utilitarianism, Kantian deontological ethics, and recent work in feminist ethics and evolutionary ethics.

The book is designed to introduce students with little to no background in philosophy to major lines of argument in philosophical ethics, and can be used alone or in conjunction with primary source readings in moral theory.
