The publishing process for academic and educational materials broadly consists of acquisition, creation (writing and editing), review, formatting, and release. However, each of these pieces play out differently depending on the resource being made. In this Office Hours session, we’ll take a look at the unique aspects that go into creating an open textbook, compared with journal and monograph publishing processes that might be more familiar to faculty. Our guests will share their experiences working in academic and educational publishing, and identify areas of overlap and convergence.
