Hello Open Education Community,
The Northeast OER (Open Educational Resources) Summit is an annual, virtual gathering of educators and students for new and experienced OER advocates offering the opportunity to learn and share effective practices in awareness building, implementation, collaboration, strategy, and research. The Summit Steering committee is looking for three additional members to join us in coordinating this annual summit. Our next conference is tentatively scheduled for March 25-26, 2026.
We are hoping to welcome new committee members with skills and experience in marketing (including content development for email and social media campaigns), managing and reporting on a budget, and experience conducting administrative tasks like notetaking and meeting scheduling. We are particularly interested in welcoming teaching Faculty members to the steering committee.
Each potential steering committee member should have the following strengths and skillsets:
- Ability to actively participate as a meeting facilitator and/or session moderator
- Experience working in a collaborative, virtual, team environment
- Experience with or enthusiasm for open education
- Has a delightful sense of humor
We are especially interested in recruiting steering committee members from Rhode Island, Vermont, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Maine, New Jersey, and Pennsylvania.
The committee meets for one hour every two weeks from November to June. There will be additional time commitments in the weeks leading up to the conference each spring.
This is a great opportunity to learn! If you are interested in volunteering but don’t necessarily match all of the requirements, please reach out. We are always looking for proposal reviewers (November-January commitment) and session moderators (attending one hour virtual training and must be available throughout the entire two-day summit).
If you are interested in joining the Steering Committee, please fill out this form by October 1, 2026. We look forward to hearing from you!
Sincerely,
