BOOK DESCRIPTION
The lab manual and workbook incorporates the pedagogies of Kolb’s Experiential Learning Theory and evidence-based practices for online/hybrid teaching and learning. In the OER, activities and assignments move beyond reflections and discussion boards to promote self-awareness as a team member by way of individual assignments and collaborative learning as a team in synchronous and asynchronous format. This OER is structured to align with the IPEC competency domains:
Values/Ethics, Roles/Responsibilities, Interprofessional Education, and Teams/Teamwork
. Each unit is further comprised of one to three chapters. In the student view, chapters consist of objectives, definitions, narrative resources (articles & weblinks) as well as application assignments. Meanwhile in the instructor view, there are teaching notes, rubrics, and samples of completed assignments; test questions are available on request to the author.

Short Description:
This OER was developed to sustain the collaboration by interdisciplinary teams that implemented a foundational interprofessional education course for healthcare professional students. The lab manual and workbook evolved from the content that aligned with the in-person lecture/discussion format that included weekly prep (readings and quizzes), team papers, a team simulation, and team care conference. The original Interprofessional Education Collaborative (IPEC) framework of competencies, Interprofessional Communication, Roles/Responsibilities, and Teams/Teamwork are sustained as well as the original topics. Meanwhile, additional topics now include Values/Ethics, Polarity Thinking, and Design Thinking.
