Session 12: Curriculum Wrap-Up (Jan 2024 Cohort)--Set Goals for Next Stage Here

Congratulations everybody! We have now hit a major milestone in TSP: this is week 12 and with that, we have completed this phase! We hope that as we worked through our intensive sessions in the last 12 weeks with you, the curriculum has helped you gain clarity on what open publishing entails and all the innovative possibilities it holds for your teaching practice. That being said, there’s still plenty to learn and button up over the coming 3 or so months as a community of practice as we move into the final stages of the program.

This session saw us do a few different things. We revisited the key takeaways of TSP Phases 1 & 2 and created spaces for reflection.

The first part of our session was dedicated to wrapping up the last phases. I provided a brief recap of the past 12 weeks, before I asked everyone to complete a Mentimeter poll.

We then discussed:

  • Mentimeter responses about successes and challenges.
  • We did a final reflection activity where we asked cohort members to reflect on their DEI learning in the program, and upload an image that best represents this in the forum. If you were absent, please complete this activity as outlined in the handout.

To prepare for our first cohort meeting in the final stage, please consult the session handout and do the suggested homework activities. Post your goals as a reply to this thread please.

It’s been wonderful working with you in the last 12 weeks, and l look forward to supporting you going forward as well. Please note that your next session will happen with @kaitlin on October 22 using the same Zoom link/email.

I appreciate you all and look forward to your continued success in OER and beyond!

We are working on revising our OER this fall for a v2 release date of Dec. 2024 or Jan. 2025. Some goals we have are:

  • to research and write two original chapters to replace chapters adapted from another OER.
  • to review and update all OER content according to changes in the world of AI in education.
  • to undertake a review in which a few people review the two new chapters, and a few people review the entire OER, and we make changes according to reviewer feedback.

Awesome goals, Troy, wow, I’m impressed with what your team has planned! Because of your subject matter, you have the more daunting task of always keeping things updated. At the same time, we can all learn from you about this process and any efficiencies you use that work.
