Looking for volunteer contributors to the Introduction to Philosophy open textbook series.
This is a series of nine books that can be mixed and matched for survey courses in Introduction to Philosophy. We have books on Ethics, Philosophy of Mind, Philosophy of Religion, Aesthetics, and more. There are three or four books that will be published in the coming few months.
We are looking for:
- authors for the Metaphysics, Epistemology, and Philosophy of Science books
- two peer reviewers for the Aesthetics book
- copy editors
- people to help with importing from google docs into the Pressbooks platform we are using for publishing
Authors should have a PhD in philosophy (or be in a PhD graduate program) and some experience teaching at the introductory level in a college or university. Ideally peer reviewers have the same background.
Copy editors should have some expertise with copy editing. Volunteers importing into Pressbooks ideally have some background in Pressbooks or WordPress, but that’s not absolutely necessary.
