Phase 2: Session 5 (May 2024 B Cohort)

Hello @may24b-cohort,

I hope you all had a nice holiday break. I’m looking forward to seeing you tomorrow, Tuesday, December 3 from 1:00pm-2:30pm Central for our next all-cohort meeting! As usual, we will get updates from all of your groups to see where you’re at and what progress you’ve made on the goals that you established for yourselves last month. It’ll be especially helpful if you can come prepared to share with the rest of the cohort some of the materials you’ve been working on. It’ll be an opportunity for you to get feedback and for the other teams to potentially get some ideas that they can apply to their projects as well.

If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to reach out. See you tomorrow!

I am so sorry, I wont be able to make it. We have a final exam during that time.

Bryan,

Could you please provide a phone number I can use in case I need to call in to attend today’s meeting?
Thank you!

Over the next month, Intro to Health Professions has a few goals:

  • Continue drafting individual chapters
  • Be ready to set spring deadlines in our January meeting, once we have a clear sense of where everyone is at with drafting, etc.
  • In January, do another scheduling availability poll for our standing meeting for the new semester

Hello @may24b-cohort,

Apologies for the delay in posting my follow-up post for this week’s session. I was really pleased to see the progress you’ve all made over the course of the last month. The team updates and subsequent discussion seemed to spark a lot of ideas. This is one of the reasons why our learning community approach is so important. It gives us the opportunity to pick up new ideas from each other. I hope you all found the discussion as valuable as I did. Here’s the chat transcript from the session.

If you haven’t already, please respond to this thread with your team’s goals for the month. Only one person from each team needs to post the goals on behalf of your team. Thanks to all those who have already responded!

Also, if you haven’t already, please fill out this poll by Friday 12/6 to help facilitate scheduling our spring semester sessions.

If you have any questions/concerns, don’t hesitate to ask. I hope you have a wonderful holiday break, and I look forward to seeing you all in the New Year!!

Hi all! The Intravenous Therapy group will be focused on finishing a first draft of their created textbook… we are compiling a list of needed videos we want to create or find for the book. The group is taking first steps looking at the Pressbooks platform  and the cohort leader is on the hunt for case study material.

@may24b-cohort, by now you should have received meeting invitations for most of our spring semester sessions. However, I neglected to send you all a sign-up sheet for our 1:1 team meetings in January. Please go to this calendar and choose a time that works for your team to meet with me. Only one person needs to sign up on behalf of the team, but be sure to add everyone’s email addresses to the sign-up form so that everyone gets the meeting invitation. You can do this by clicking where it says “Add Guests” and entering each team member’s email address.

If you have any questions/concerns, don’t hesitate to ask. I hope you all have a wonderful holiday break, and I’ll check in with you all next month!

Thanks for keeping me informed, @Rebus CommunityDr. McGeary.
Happy Holidays to you.
Ms. Milton
