Pedagogy Opened: Innovative Theory and Practice

Good morning and a happy Open Education Week to all!

I’m incredibly excited to finally be able to share the publication of the first volume of Pedagogy Opened: Innovative Theory and Practice, a peer reviewed edited collection published by the University of North Georgia Press that has been over two years in the making!

Pedagogy Opened seeks to “synthesize the many branches and applications of open pedagogy and spark conversations that both deepen our existing knowledge and challenge us to branch further…[it] includes seven thought-provoking discussions of research, theory, and practice within and connected to open pedagogy, each contributing a different set of ideas to spark further conversations” (p. ix).

We also sought to incorporate our own open pedagogy practices in the development of this new series by working with a class of undergraduate visual design students to design our front and back covers.

Pedagogy Opened is available under a Creative Commons Attribution International 4.0 license and can be viewed freely on OpenALG (Manifold) or in PDF format, both designed to be accessible. It will also be available in a low-cost print edition as well, to be added in the coming days.

We can’t wait for you to read these impactful works, and we look forward to your feedback!

Thank you to all,
